Yes : ) I guess a Moderator may have fixed them because they worked fine now but were broken links late last night. It's all good now, and I did vote! Thanks!

your work don't look like a newbie, leonregis... i'm amazed at how good those models of yours looks and you have picked up the texturing very quickly! (something I still struggle with)

be sure to enter the next one as soon as it starts, i'd love to see what you do in the next round :)

I said that I just don't entered yet because I was a newbie, I still one but much less than before, I have win two incredible months of experience. And that helped me to want to start it...
The texturing was pretty easy because it don't needed much attention just choose a uv mapping shape and then apply.
I can't promise if I'll finish the other MMC, this will be the last month at school and usually the most stressing...

i also have very little time so i've learnt to make low polygon detail models quickly and compose them in an interesting way, relying on textures and lighting to hide some low details, this is also very crucial for game models and i am involved in some game projects as well...

thanks so much for the heads up about the MMC - just got in under the deadline thanks to you!

your entry, "Sherwood", looks like a scene i would LOVE to jump into - i understand you are working on gaming projects but is there any way a scene like that could be adapted for ourSpace? it is beyond my newbie knowledge level about how a scene is used in shared space but "Sherwood" looks perfect for roaming around in with other users - i even imagine those little guys in the scene could be used as avatars. again, above my level of expert-eeze - i am STILL trying to jump into a maze with no luck...

anyway - just a thought - your scene looks so inviting... thanks for sharing your 3D work - i find it very insipring.

Hi carlpatti, thanks for the compliments...

It would be easy to use the scene as a shared space. Will just need to add a boundary to cordon it off. Basically any scene could be used in shared space but it would just look and feel better if you don't have a square ground plane to walk on and over the edge. Some hedges or cliffs or something around the scene would round it off better.

I haven't done share spaces yet but I have walked around in them before.

Any object can be used as an avatar, but as far as i know it doesn't "animate" when walking around. So you could even use a car or a tank as an avatar and drive it around in the scene! :)

yeah, be careful of being overwhelmed... there is a lot of features and lots to learn... start with something specific that you are most interested in... detailed modeling... animation... shared space... focus on the feature and don't try to put all into on like animated shared spaces with highly detailed models... each one takes a lot of time and if you try to do all of them you will either get discouraged and drop it or take forever to do something if you are patient...

Okay, I think that I'll start a Huge project that I have in mind, but then I'll not be able to join this MMC, so I'll wait for the MMC subject, if be a good one I will do the MMC and start the project next month, BTW Congrats Theuns you are winning for now!

same here, I'd love to do a nice long animation and convert it into a shared space, as I wanted to do with my Mecorgian Cliff Colony below, but I barely get time to do the modeling, let alone experiment with animations and try out trueServe etc...

You can always make small bits of a huge project and enter them in the MMC or SMC, like the MAV military war vehicles Ive made so far plus about ten other scenes that illustrates the HMN hegemony of mankind nations and their war against the Mensoids... lots of different scenes part of the same story and project ...

Just a note... If I get the most votes, the 2nd runner up will host the next MMC...

You should open a WIP for that, I would like to see the evolution, also you could refresh your blog, putting those images and others.

did have a WIP for it on the old Caligari forums, will have to make a new one here, but it is old and stagnant, last worked on it in March 2008... perhaps I can continue working on it since there are areas of the colony/villages that is not done yet, like the Council Chambers, work shops and guard posts... was also suggested that this become a shared space but never got around to it...

...the blog is still new, lots of things not on there yet but I will load them up soon... ;)
