Sketch dump: Volume 1

Post by Steve »

I know I'm not really active round here anymore, but I figured I'd make some dumps of things I've been up to

First up, Sculptris

A rock fish, bottom feeder, suckerfish or something...would make a cool looking flute, approx 1hr

I livestreamed this to introduce cat (who you'll see later down this page) to sculptris, about half an hour, she said make an apple, so I did. He's called Jeff, he thinks he's an artist, and he also thinks he's funny
Image

Next thing, not sure where else to go with this guy, called the GravelBoar, big stupid brute, clings onto rock faces and doesn't budge, just to irritate the local wildlife. Approx 45mins

And finally we come to a slightly big sculpt
I'd finished making a generic body sculpt when my friend Cat was nice enough to sit still and let me use her face. She was even polite enough to minimise her looks of horror and despair as I mangled the body from male to female, I'm afraid the screenshot does cut off 'below the belt' so there's no (alarmingly well sculpted) backsides in shot
Image
That's there so you can see the comparisons
Then came the clothes she wears...probably much to her relief

And finally the original intention of this body sculpt
Image
Werewolf...with a twist
It'll be a lovable werewolf

I like the GravelBore creature. I hope you might decide to texture it for us.
Modeling your girlfriend had to be fun. You caught her likeness pretty well.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks fellas

Sadly...I dislike texturing, my fun comes from modelling and my rubbish texturing skills couldn't really make the model better

So what I'm going to do is upload the gravelBoar here in case anyone else fancies having a go at texturing it themselves

Another 'sketch'...some crates
Made in 5 minutes
Then made in 5 minutes again after TS crashed and corrupted the file. Just modelling power, no textures

Yeeeeeee guys I am still alive I promise, just very very busy. Money's a bit on the scarce side but got myself a summer job for next year as a professional winch driver at Camp hill gliding site, accomodation, flying membership and meals included AND enough money to earn myself a powered PPL for what I've been doing for free in the last few months so sorting that out's been taking a bit of time

So is coursework, but let me show you a snippet of the applications for my modelling that I'm now doing that isn't patent/coursework protected

Hehehe, cool stuff you did there in Sculptris! Very very cool. I started using it the other day and fell in love. It's fun. Here is a link to what I first made. =P
