top2edge plugin. Based upon rounded bevel source by Ken Tylman, this plugin converge edges at the vertex centre of a polyhedron. One shot plugin
If the polyhedron is scaled up respect to tS default size, the top face is proportionally subdivided like below, thus needs more clicks before to converge. (good for a quick drill by removing the face).
Works also with well-done booleans. Not suited for curve-to-polyh

Don't work well and you have a better result with the bevel tool with the angle at 90. It is unnecessary.

Re: Plugin: top2edge
Every new tsX is a pleasant surprise
I quickly tested it and found no problems. It works as expected.
But as Marcel said, it does not really add a new tool since Bevel at 90° angle does the same and also let the user set a given size for the "bevel" depth.
Your new plugin would require some options to bring new features to trueSpace.
For example, the Bevel tool actually let you set a bevel depth from 0.001 meter to 1 meter. I never understood why that tool was limited to 1 meter !
Your plugin could bypass this limitation. I think a good improvement would be to implement an option panel that let the user choose the length/depth of that flat bevel. Also we could have some buttons to store numbers/settings.

Re: Plugin: top2edge
@ Marcel:
I know about that: this plugin doesn't add nothing new; just a quick way to do an operation (good for me). It has been tested in tS 6.6.
@ Emmanuel:
The features you suggest (apart the 1m limitation) are already included within the original rounded bevel plugin.
The problem is that settings are stored through buttons and, at least for me, I never remember in which preset button
are memorized the operations, for this I've semplify the plugin for just one. Fortunately, for the default bevel button there is a
library, otherwise also here I could lost more important bevel settings to do such a simple operation.
Feel free to use or reject it. Just to spend a bit of spare time with my favorite 3D modeler.

Re: Plugin: top2edge
Okay, now I understand the goal of your plugin. Using it along with the Weld Vertices tool is making sense :
Select a face, then clic the plugin and clic Weld Vertices and you get a single vertex at the center of your face... in just 2 clics.
Handy !
Thank you Fenerit

Re: Plugin: top2edge
Hi Emmanuel, this version does the two forementioned operations in one click (left). Right click erase the selected vertex(s); useful as a quick undo or more. The icon has been redrawn.

Re: Plugin: top2edge
Thank you for this new version Fenerit.
I tested it on tS7.6, with XP PRO64 and it works ok. I only notices that the created vertex goes unselected after the left-clic, so there is no vertex to erase if we right-clic next ; we have to select the vertex by clicking on it first.
It is not an issue for me though.
Thanks again for this new cool little shining tool. I will attach this one at the Xmas tree
