I accepted 2 new members today... so we passed the line.

Now the big question is, why the most of the people join the forum but never make a single post..
what is the point to join a community if you are not participating?

What ever.. Levi's 501 is the best jean! :)

Thanks Carlpatti for the compliment!

I think the Caligari site had the same problem with number of members versus
active members. Some just join so that they can gain information but feel too
green for participation.
We have approximately 150 members here who have posted at least 5 times here. The core
unit of active members would be around 80-100 members. Not bad for a dead software package.
What really sets us apart is the quality of our members. No big egos, flames, trolls, illegal software
garbage collectors....
This Forum is a nice place to share ideas and help others in the 3D world. As long as we have a common
interest we will be ok.
Occasionally a fantastic new member joins that is full of energy and excitement like Leonregis and Carlpatti.
Those are the times the value of this Site becomes evident.

Is there some statistic over which who have posted most - do I make the top 150? ;-)
A even better measure if someone is active is in my opinion if they ever post any work. I have to admit I have been bad at this. It has been a combination of much work with problems to work on a laptop screen and a general lack of 3D ideas that I blame in my case. I will improve.

Hi SpyFrog, :bananahi:

You brought up a really good point:
A even better measure if someone is active is in my opinion if they ever post any work. I have to admit I have been bad at this.
I have to admit that I have been bad at posting my work also!

I just posted the first model I have ever completed without the benefit of a tutorial in this months MMC. It took a great deal of courage on my part. But I have been reading this forum and the Caligari forum for a long time . It was time to start participating. I started by joining in the conversations. Everyone was so helpful and supportive, I knew I could trust the forum members when I shared my actual 3D modeling skills (or lack of...). I knew when I posted my first model as a WIP that I would NOT get flamed or abused, no matter how good or bad my work was.

This forum is a different kind of forum. I don't know why it works so well, but it does...

The forum gets stronger as we ALL participate, so please jump in - post your work in progress, enter the MMC and the SMC.

We all benefit when more members participate.

That reminds me...
this is the last few hours of voting for this month's MMC - PLEASE VOTE!

Thanks,
Patti :D

(and thanks Steinie and Prodigy for the very kind words.)

Thank you very much Steinie and Prodigy!

I would strengthen what Patti said, this forum is totally different and I really like the way it is now, could have some others features like Karma and Blogs, but how could we improve the perfection?

Thanks Steinie also to ''force'' me to open a WIP, was the best thing I did in this forum!
