Hello all,
Obviously I am new to TS. I have downloaded all the tutorials as I understand they are about to go away=(. Anyway I have started with the "Getting started with TS 7" tutorial and got through most of it with no problem. However, there are some discrepancies between my screen and the one that is used in the tutorial. For one thing, the arrow button next to the default tab does not drop down a menu but opens a system browser wanting me to open a file. Also I have only four tabs across the top, where in the video the user has many tabs. Most importantly, I have no "library menu" above my docked Libraries area (on left of screen). I am sure that I just dont understand how open this menu, but I cant figure out how. Please help and save me from pulling my hair out. Thanks.

Re: Newbie Question
Welcome to tS and the forum,
The discrepancies are due to the tutorial being made with a slightly earlier version of tS.
The functions are still there, they just look a little different or are in a different spot.
For the tabs, you'll want to navigate to your trueSpace7.x/tS/RS Main Libraries/Layouts-Configurations/ folder.
This will then display all the layouts you have in the library as tabs across the top.
In addition to displaying Layouts as tabs, you could also point it to any number of different folders- the one containing your Scenes, for example.
Each scene in that folder would then get a tab, allowing for easy switching between them.
The 'Library Menu' is now the 'Library Browser'
It's icon: This will allow you to navigate to and open any Library into the 'Stack'.
Hope that saves your hair!

Re: Newbie Question
Cool thanks a lot. Now for the big surprise. I have another problem. I cannot get many of the tutorials to play. Media Player says that I need a codec to use the files. Any ideas?

Re: Newbie Question
Just do a quick Google for a codec pack, Generally you can download the codecs in baulk and will cover all the required types.

Alright, the mass codec downloads did not work, however I did find one that does. Here is the link for future reference. http://www.voiceage.com/acelp_eval_eula.php,
