Old youtube embeds not working. Spacekdet noted that here v ... 750#p50750 The old youtube embed BBcode uses flash and many people don't install that or have it blocked for security. I can see the old videos in IE with flash and reduced security settings but not in Firefox with no flash and mega security. Try changing the BBcode for the old yt embeds to the same code as the new one. The old BBcode uses "youtube" tags while the new one uses "youtube2".

Another thing. I think the email notifications for private messages are not working.

If you can point me to a post with a broken youtube embed I can look at it.

If the embed is changed to youtube2/ youtube2 it works again.

Example, no embeds this page work (link). They are all old style ones.

It isn't that they are broken but more like flash is moving to obsolescence. The old style uses flash which is untrustworthy so many people don't install it in their browsers/systems. The old YT embeds (youtube BBcode) do work with flash installed in your browser plus less-than-super security settings but don't work otherwise. The new YT embeds (youtube2 BBcode) and the Vimeo ones work fine.*

I think using the guts of the new YT BBcode, youtube2, in the old one too would fix it. The youtube and youtube2 BBcodes would be the same except for the name. That way they both do the same thing but the legacy form is there for the old embeds.

That's right. The youtube button or control on the post editor now uses the new youtube2 BBcode or you can type the tags. The old embeds use the old BBcode. If you insist on using the old one you can type the tags without the '2'.

*Using Firefox's anti tracking feature with the strict block list will break all YT embeds and the Vimeo ones.

Email notifications are working now.

Old you tube posts are working now.

Works okay in IE 11. I do notice now though another minor annoyance is I have to re-login every time now to post? I never had this issue with the old forum so I'm guessing there is a problem with the new forum. Leroy.

Try going to https://united3dartists.com/forums/ or united3dartists.com which forwards to the https:// address.
plain http:// is source of login problem
