There isnt any other download then the Truespace /.61 standalone anymore at least officially !

Like Rayman said use TS, GameSpace was just a lite version of TS anyway.. if you need exporters use Milkshape

Just so the piracy insinuation can be dispelled before the Wyatt Earp crowd appears to lynch me, these were originally cnet downloads, and this is an old, legal shareware download site.

And also, gamespace wasn't merely a light version of truespace, it essentially included the gamepak (which isn't available anymore). You can use the modeling plugins from gamespace with truespace, but not the exporters, from memory.

I'm not in the position to cast stones and don't qualify for throwin the first one (yay for the sinners!!), is it legal for topdownloads.net to host em?.. I dunno, but as far as I'm aware Caligari pulled all the downloads..

Whether Caligari want people not to use gslight (or distribute it), and whether or not they can stop them, is another deal. Short of a C and D order against the site in question, I doubt there's anything they can do about it. I don't see MS doing anything about this either. Ultimately, it was once clearly freeware, so I doubt the legality is cut and dried.

In my subjective pov, once you make something free, particularly information, that's it. You shouldn't be allowed to take it back merely because it doesn't suit your interests anymore.

This also applies to TS7.6, but considering how miserly MS/ Caligari have been about the standard version, who knows, maybe they would sue you.

Gamespace has critical bugs that were never fixed, which is why it failed to start with. Imo the question is why would anyone want to use it in the first place. But it's not for me to judge, which is why I was happy to help out a brother.

money to pay the lawyers! Oh wait. They're disbanded anyway! Let's see... who'd file it... hm...

I guess since Microsoft own Caligari (although the circumstances of that arrangement were always a bit vague), it would be them who would do the kicking of asses.

However, in order to start the program, That is asking to enter a Serial #, also have to register to get a Serial # to activate the program... When I cick on the link to register, there is nothing with that Register Link... So, does anyone have a serial number that you can share and post with your reply to this...? Or how do I get a Serial # to activate the program...?

So that unfortunately is the answer...cannot be activated without serial number from a site that doesn't exist any more, built-in protection!!

NO, trueSpace worked the same way and we can still reactivate the application after Caligari shut down. Paying customers received a serial number I doubt many would part with now.
I don't understand the benefit of wanting GameSpace Light when a complete version of trueSpace has everything you would need. (except the pluspacks)

If I was struggling with using TS 7x I'd go for the TS3 rather than GS, GS light is bloody annoying! it'll only export objects of a limited size/geometry
I bought 1.5 in a sale way back and up until last weekend I never used it creatively, most of the time I'd fire it up, it would play silly buggers, I'd un install it again and use TS lol

Like Steine has already said, someone who paid for GS isn't going to share.. that does break the conditions of use

... ... ... Hey, Steinie... I Was Able to make a 2D plane with textures... However, now I've got problem SAVING that 2D Plane with Texture and save that as an .x fle for my DirectX aplication... Every time my own program tries to upload the 2D Plane with Texture, keeps failing to load and find the 2D Plane with texture... Do you know how to solve this problem...?

I have a GSL serial number and I'll share it 1157845120831 as GSL is no longer available as a free download any more. I also have the installer as well. I was lucky enough to install a copy that works before Caligari pulled the plug on GSL. Thank God too...as TS 7.6 won't run under WIN/ME. What really kills me is I was going to purchase the full version of Gamespace; it's the only 3d modeler my tiny brain can comprehend; although, TS 7.6/6.6 comes pretty close. I also have working copies of TS 1 and TS 3.2 PS: It's a real shame that Caligari sold out to MS...I truly love modeling with their products.

if you have GSL on an old pc you should get the serial number on the splash screen as it starts, you do with the full GS and other TS's

I'm also aware of a TS 7.6 CNET download link. Download 7.6. Don't have a clue how long that one will stay active though.

Sorry to bump an old topic but I have a link if the subject comes up again. The link is
GSL link on BNG's Truespace modeling forum.

I have another download link for Gamespace Light the demo version. The link to download it is Gamespace Light Demo Installer. It has some limitation as far as export formats but has usable X, COB and SCN exporters. Not to mention quite a few popular import formats. I used to use it a lot to make models and props for a video game called Battlezone II Combat Commander. Hopefully, someone can use the demo version as an excellent 3D modeling starter software. It kind of dated but awesomely easy to master with a little patience.

Update: Perhaps the best overall option is just to download Truespace 7.6 or 7.61 Beta 8 as it has most of the Gamespace features plus the newer features of the final version of Caligari's now unsupported model creation software. The Model side is virually identical to Gamespace.
