Now some of us mortal dont have the funds for 20 Red Epic or Scarlet or 4K productions...
The computer power you need for 4K is quite astronomical......
The 3d cameras you get at the moment are few and not very versitile .. BUT....
I once went to an exhibition of a friend of mine that made stereoscopic stills..
There was a guy who attached 2 Sony nex´s with the short sides to each other..
quite the same way the Hero 2 is connected in the stereo underwater housing......
The old Nex 3 and Nex 5 can be bought used for about 300 $ on ebay or in second hand shops
with the standard lenses...... they have a mount so that virtually all still lenses and many pl mount lenses and primes
can be used... The HD quality even in low light is pretty good......
Besides the autofocus kind of works pretty well too !
You dont need a focus puller....for 2 lenses...
Its a very handholdable unit that can be used on a Steadycam handhold unit....
Its also 30 P or 60 i capable.....
Given that you use 1K on every eye the quality impression is more like a single 2K camera.....
Worth looking into if stereo is your thing...
