Challenge - August 2014 - Car

Post by Dragneye »

Been wanting to do one of these so.... here's the basic idea.
Always wanted to virtually crash one of these too so... I'll see what scene I can come up with.

Hey guys. (thanks for the wake up Finis)...
Been trying to figure out angles and geometry. Hasn't been working well. Tried the usual routine of sculpting in zbrush the form, retopologizing (finding Blender just as good as zbrush, even more efficient actually), and then refining (so now I know what I finally want), but again stuck on the geometry details. Anyway, here's what I got.

Looks good! Zbrush is hard for me to use - evidently I don't have enough thumbs.

It's electric/future energy pack system Finis. The shapely ducting is for heat dissipation (bottom is batteries. The faster you go, the hotter they get, but, you get real power/speed. Also, you have instant heated seats). Still thinking abt a scene.

James I think of it more as clay sculpting rather than modeling when in zbrush. Still a novice I have to admit, so use a very limited brush palette/options. Easier on the brain. If you have tried Blender try sculpting there too (one has to retopo either way. I find it just as good in Blender easier to see too) with the added benefit of being in the main program already when done).

Still a good entry and cool car design Dragneye. Shows that with imagination you don't lots of objects and fancy stuff to tell a story, just a few blocks. I like those "7" windows too. That would look good and add interest to a real building.

Thanks Finis. Wish I had more time to refine the whole thing.

GREAT! Looking very nice. I'm happy you're continuing with it, even when the competition ended. :bananathumb:
