I was tinkering around with software tonight and whipped up an image for use in forum posts at other sites promoting the United 3D Artists site... and it occurred to me that we have a lot of talented folks here who may also wanna whip up some promotional images and toss them in the same thread for the Community.
This is nothing "official," just our own personal ideas in image form, so why not start a "Challenge" thread here for each of us to toss in images for fun?
Here's my first entry to start the ball rolling.... see what you can each whip up!

Think I need to add lightwave to the List and VUE, then add teh bottom line that say's all of the above. And have the All of the above check marked.

The second one should not be there I had something happen with the conversion to JPG that left the shadow looking funky.
Looks amazing dude, great idea in using gifs, it's completely explained the community there... If my old site was open I surely would post it there...

Here is a variation on this idea... a free wix flash web page created at wix using the free online editing tools there. Anyone can use those tools they are sooooo easy to learn and use. Very time consuming stuff though creating flash, even with the wix editor's drag-and-drop approach. Can't beat the price though, lol.
You can link to the following page, it will stay there, and clicking the flash icon on that page takes you to the main page of the U3DA Forum here.
The intro page is looking very good, shows more competence or something like that and it's nice...
Let's see what Prodigy and Steinie think about all of the ideas...

I think it's great work but I have one objection against the girl.
I think this is a cultural difference between us. For me the girl gives impression of tccommunity may be a place to meet girls or se girls with little clothes or other dubius things.
In Sweden for a long time lots of the women and also some men has made protests against advertising for products with girls in bicinis. This has led to the women in the advertising has become to represent a more capable person. And companies who dispite this makes advertising with bicinis girls can get fined. The clothing company HM always, before christmas, makes advertising for underwear for women. And every year there is a big debate in newspapers, radio och tv on this to have girls i underwears as advertising. HM get away of this because they are advertising the underwear.
I have been thinking of which picture could be adequate for tscommunity so it could apprehend as a community about 3D and specially about TS.
It's hard to find this picture but I think after this reply has to come upp with a suggestion.
This is my opinion on the subject from a country with a lively debate about equality between men and women.

Although the ad doesn't bother me the visual message
doesn't represent us here. Woman and young artist are welcome
here and lost in that graphic.
Wix does look cool and I'm sure Prodigy will be interested in it.
First we need a logo. Everyone could start a thread on that one if you'd like.
Then we will need a front page which Prodigy will create. (when he gets his
personal items in order). We are looking at design ideas for the front page.
I have talked about my feelings on that in another thread. I have also asked for
your ideas too. Since we are in the early stages your ideas will help us later.
I feel once the front page is designed we can really be creative with future functions.
It is great that you are all trying to help and your ideas will certainly be looked at.

The thing is, this thread is for **all of us** to contribute any examples of whatever we each envision as a usable concept, so feel free to create such an image or series of them and place a few here to inspire us in additional / optional directions!

I missed the other thread you referred to and wasn't aware of that so I will go hunting for it in a bit here and get on the same page so to speak, lol.
This all gets the creative juices flowing so it's all good I guess! : )
And yeah I agree on us9ing a girl in the pic, just happened to be handy in the absence of a more "universal" image representing a 3d modeling community, lol. No problema! : )

Essentially it is a free flash tools design service online, with additional paid enhancements if you opt to use them at any point.

Bob... I just hunted all over the forum here for the thread you mentioned above. Do you remember the thread name (even partial) or who started the thread? I would like to read it for sure and thanks for mentioning it.
A community effort to focus on a logo design might be fun and I am game to join in. : )

I think I have to come up with something.
This is a sketch of what I think is the idea behind united3dartists.com
My intention is that the coordinate system we use should in some way may appear. I am thinking of the old movie TRON. I have tilted the coordinate system a bit to show the possibilities in TS. It is not the real world. If you are i 3-D graphics you should recognise this. I have also used the the widgets as an symbol for 3D. The sphere should be textured as the earth. With this I will emphasize that united3dartists are worldwide.
This is a suggestion. It needs much more work if it's going to be a logo. Your point of view!!.
