Was already mentioned a few post earlier in this section. 3D World have it free in the next issue but it may not be the Pro version. 3D Artist mag also give you 25% off the upgrade price (about £67 in total).

I subscribe to 3DArtist Magazine and just installed the FREE Carrara 7 Pro version
which is fully functional. Not a bad deal for buying a $15 Magazine, (this is actually
my favorite 3d magazine today) and is even cheaper when you have a subscription.
This is probably a good program to try if you want to be weaned from trueSpace and get
3d software with new development. I plan to use both.

Yeah, not bad for a freebie and you can get version 8 for a very good price.

Rumors have it Bryce 6 or 6.3 will be free after the release of Bryce 7 Pro.

I have it but haven't installed it yet, I'm still using 6.2 as I have some plugins that don't work on the newer versions :?
Bryce does some things better than Carrara, although its not very good for interior scenes and rendertimes can be alarming.

What is the version of 3D Artist and 3D World magazines are Carrara 7 Pro in? We might not be getting the same versions over here and want to know what to look out for...

Hi i get the mag sent out from england. I have august editionand in the
september edition is carrera 7,i am still waiting for that one.

thanks guys... Steinie, is there a date or volume number on it? I'll have a look for it in our local news agent but if I see another one, I can compare the volume numbers to figure out how far behind we are and how long I'll have to wait for it... tnx :)

Are you sure? The editor requested one of my pics for the next edition, he said it would be the August issue. I have the carrera issue as shown in Steinie's threads and that is the July issue...

Hi splinters i just looked up3D wolrd under google and i have the latest isue
next one has carrera 7 . it does not say if it is pro or normal. if it is the pro
version i can update to carrera 8 pro very cheap

Must be Germany than, the issue with Carrara 7 has been out for a few weeks here, new issue is almost due. 3D World mag is also due any time, will let you know if it is Pro version.
