Many misfortunes to win his freedom. We must not forget that. I am proud that France has fought alongside the Americans after the declaration of independance. 7 years later the Treaty of Paris put an end to the war of independance from the United States. 6 years later the french won their revolution.

Yes it is good to take pause to honour and give thanks for all those who have sacrificed bload and fortune to secure liberty and freedom in The Republic of The United States of America.
Sadly our current socialist unconstitutional government is doing all it can to make these sacafices meaningless, by chipping away at our freedoms day after day in the congress in the courts and by presidential decree.. God help us.. The America that will be celibrated with splender in the sky this evening... is fading fast into the dust heap of history... And no one seems to even notice...
