Hi u3d artists.

My first question is kind of risky for me. Is there anyone out there willing to send me the Vray 1.53 update? I can produce my original receipt of purchase from caligari and you may even contact bibiana to confirm I am a licensed user of vray.

I desperately need it because I just found out about it and also the patch that makes it work with Truespace 7.61.

I've been using TS3D since version 5. I have a funny sort of warm feeling towards it. Why? I dunno! Maybe the software just grows on you. I know it was the first 3d software I have ever used and caligari even let me buy it on installments.

I was a bit dissapointed when it went free as it was only some months earlier that I purchased the upgrade. I'm a little bitter again now that the cash machine that is M$ have pulled the plug.

Anyway,nice to meet you all and I hope this community grows even more.

The V-Ray 1.53 PATCH update was created by Tiles, not by Caligari, and he graciously made it available as a free download in the following Caligari Forum thread.

If you succeed in locating the 1:53 update that was official you will need this patch also.

Hi, Yes I have the patch. Just need the 1.53 update for vray.

I tried going to the cart1.caligari url but it's dead. There I could log in and download it but as said it's no longer available.

Is there anyway to contact caligari atm in order for me to speak with bibiana to get the update?

Not sure on contacting any Caligari staff, if indeed any exist anymore. Try leaving a PM (Private Message) to Roman at both forums, here and Caligari Forum. Not sure if you would get an answer or whether it would be anytime soon even if you did, but that would perhaps be your best chance of getting clarity at least on whether it is even possible to obtain the update anymore from official sources.

Yeah, I remember this post. At the time it gave me a laugh, there's nothing like a rant in broken english.

That said, I think it should be noted that many people were angry at the time (I was angry long before this ), and perhaps there were many posts like this that are best forgotten. And really, if there was ever going to be a census on ass-biting from the old forums, I think Caligari's die-hard believers would probably need a few band-aids..........

Maybe the ghosts of forum's past are better left there?

But yeah I was just mad at them shutting up shop. I really never wanted truespace to die. The other thing is I have Gamepak , also. But it doesn't work with the latest version.

So please forgive that post on the forums. I'm sure there were many who felt the same when the Cash Machine M$ took over then everything went downhill.

Glad you managed to get squared away on that, congrats!

As for anger back then, I was livid myself, in fact as soon as that happened I quit the Caligari Beta Team and left the forums and moved on to creating my stuff for deployment on other platforms, which I have done ever since. I only returned to all this when trueServe went free at last, something I had been hoping for since February 2007.

I have no idea on a Gamepak Patch sorry, hopefully someone here does.
