Ok I have a question for everyone that uses Windows.
I have been using Windows Media Player for years to play my animation on and have never had any real problems.
Recently I started noticing that I am seeing around the edges some blurryness and the colors do not look good they seem to be off slightly and they are not as bright and vivid.
So I thought that something was wrong with my animation software and went through every setting and then when I exhausted what I knew I called Tech support and they could find nothing wrong.
What I did notice is that if I play my finished work on a as I call stand along media player one that doesnt use the windows core components that it looks flawless and darn near perfect.
So has anyone else had this problem?
Is there a stand alone media player that is better than the others?

Re: Windows Media Player VS Stand Alone Media Players
I like VLC, which has good playback, and is a light standalone program. I also use a K-light Codec pack which has a media player included. It plays almost everything quite well. It's a bit more of a heavier program. I usually use either/or over Windows Media player.
They both are free.
I find Windows Media Player 11 to be good with codecs all round, but sometimes the image isn't the best. Hope you find your program!

Re: Windows Media Player VS Stand Alone Media Players
After I read the article I tried the Daum Potplayer to see how well it work and found it to be great.
Uses very little in system resources and provides a very stable playback.

Re: Windows Media Player VS Stand Alone Media Players
I prefer Windows Media Player for mp3 playback because of its media library, for videos however only VLC will do
