Good luck. I seem to recall the 7 had a lot of good new stuff in it like modeling in the assembly room. In any case you can't beat the price(free).

I was just about to post this as I just picked up a copy from WHSmith. You cannot buy version 7 any more and you get a good upgrade price too.

Anyone got any experience of Carrara 8? You get 25% off the upgrade price with Carrara 7 Pro. Comes out at $104 (about £69)....seriously considering it. Will be nice to get a 64 bit 3D app...and I have the summer to learn it.....

haven't seen that issue locally yet, will keep a lookout for it... you will have to download some tutorials to get going in Carrara. I got a few that I haven't worked through yet...

I've been expermenting with carrara for rendereing (and also some modeling). I imported a car that I
created in truespace, one that I did not totally complete. I was suprised that it rendered so quick in
carrara as it only took a few minutes. I remember doing a similar rendering with ts yafaray and it would
take many hours.

Attached below is the render. Carrara seems to show all the imperfections in the model with a glossy
refelective finish though.
