Modelside with 2560 pixels per line.

Post by marcel »

Here is a test for the modelside on my new screen with a resolution of 2560 pixels per line.
DirectX does not work (?) but OpenGL works.
This allows me to put all the icons on the top of the screen and the modeling work is more enjoyable.
The only problem with OpenGL : I have to switch to wireframe mode before launching a screen rendering.
TS can therefore work on this type of display. :)

Cool to see tS runs in a 2560 screen. I remember I was about to buy such a monitor, but I finally got a couple of ASUS PB248Q, (1920x1200). And I am happy with it.

Marcel, what graphic card are you using ?

Cool scene btw. I can't wait to see it in a render :)

It is a Asus pb278q with PLS technology. Very good. I have a Nvidia gtx 680 oc.
You can see the render of the scene on the Finished artwork folder since a few months. And many other images. ;)
I prefer one big screen because i have more lines than two screen with 1080 or 1200 lines.

Nice! I tried a silly 3150 x 1680 setup once with my 3 monitors, worked for the TS7 workspace, didn't try the model-side though.
By the way, Marcel, is that oc'd GTX 680 made by Gigabyte? Windforce series? If so then you and I have probably got the same card. :bananathumb:

DirectX with TS is faster than Opengl but it seem to be limited with hight resolution on one screen and modelside (old version of directX).
Opengl is better for the realtime quality (antialiasing, zoom).
But the choose depend of your hardware. Just try both solution.

After some tests, the opengl mode is bad for me because when i rotate my view with the middle mouse button, it's too slow (latence), same thing in trueSpace for illustrators, directx 3D mode works better no latence between the mouse movement and the view.
