So here is a butterfly I'm working on. I'm kinda working in the blind, so I'm practically designing this dude from scratch, no external influence!
So This is what I've come up with so far.
He has no legs yet, and he has green translucent skin, making it look more like a grasshopper! But hey! It will... should look good!
I made practically everything from spheres, cylinders and cutouts.

I'm really looking forward to seeing all these characters animated. Be sure to post a link to a clip featuring these characters when you're done with this huge project

Good detail! Didn't do much today due to lack of concentration!

Enjoyt he one below in 3D!!! I have improved the 3D stereograph clinton made, now it has colour!

Long shot.

Now to export both the butterfly and fish to UV's. This time I'm doing it in Softimage. I like 3Dcoat, but for healing islands, or knowing where they are, it's a bit tricky. It does have a feature for showing you which face is too large or small compaired to the others, but with a grid in Softimage I can do the same.

Did the UV for this guy. I kept the eye UV's interesting because they are more of a bug eye look.
I will have an illustrator do the textures for me because I'm running out of time!

I'm rigging now! The wings are complicated... as I want two leafs of wing to flap together, yet be independant.......
Also, found out that Blender does have true IK, tho still somewhat complicated when it comes to building the rig. I'd love to try out a rig in TS.

The finished rig. Ready for animating!
I had trouble as I made this rig too large (forgot to scale before building it,) so it had some errors on the weights once I did scale it. It's ok now. Ready to animate.
This is the structure I have. it is simple. It took me a while to get the wings to do what I wanted, but I figured out how to do it. Softimage is powerful, cause you can do absolutely whatever you want, but at the same time it is a bit hard to get a simple job done quickly. So with some wrestling, i got it.
Just take note, I have changed some of the rig once upon use. I also opted to not use any bones in the head and just use a null with a weight asigned to it. I will animate it once I do... I am running out of time, so as long as the meshes work, I will have to do whatever I can to get the production, ANYTHING produced for the sales pitch end of March.
