What is a NURBS?
Where is he NURBS toolbar? I have a nice picture of it in the book but, cannot find anything to get it.
I am using Truespace 7.61 Beta on VISTA 32.
In the Caligari book, Section 1.2 NURBS Editing in Model View. I have the model view and the material. I also have the cylinder in the scene.
Had a bit of a problem scaling the top of the cylinder but managed to do it somehow.
In Step 4&5 it says to use the NURBS context edit menu(?), Select Draw Trimmng Curve(?)
This is the part I begin to get lost. No video for this project.
where do I find these things?

NURBS (non-uniform rational B-spline) is a mathematical model for representing curves and surfaces in CAD programs. They are often employed as flexible shapes in freeform modeling. You can think of them as the playdough of the 3D world that you can stretch and squeeze into most any shape you desire.

Mike Harris did a nice tutorial about Nurbs for trueSpace 5 and you can download it here: http://www.caligari.com/products/trueSp ... undamental" . Even though an older version of trueSpace was used in the course, many of the same principles still apply.

Caligari has many tutorials on their website. Just go to the home page at http://www.caligari.com" and click on "Training". Then download all of the courses under the "Fundamentals Courses" and "Master Courses" sections. They won't be available for much longer so you should download them while you can.

Nurbs can only be found on the Model side in trueSpace. Those functions
had not yet been written for the workSpace side when trueSpace went kapuut.
Remember if you have the "Standard" version of Beta and you have two tabs labeled
"Model" and "workSpace" you will find Nurbs by clicking on the Model tab.
(two programs connected by a bridge)
If you downloaded the workSpace only version you do not have Nurbs at all.
