Workspace / Modelspace eye candy
Maybe I'm misunderstanding the 'real-time' appeal of the workspace side. When I render an object in Modelspace, I can see the effects of the materials.. the glass is shiny, it refracts the light, the rocks are good and bumpy, plastic looks.. plastic, etc. Wasn't the workspace side supposed to show all this in real time? The glass looks white, not transparent.. and the bump maps look a lil' flat. Is threre a setting I can tweak, or a box to check or something?

Yes tehre are display options that can be tweaked for the realtime render, if you have not tweaked them already. You can turn on and off antialiasing, resolution and things like that. There is also the super sampling and something that had an impact.
I beleive you jsut ahve to click on the window and click the setting tab to bring them all up. Keep in mind though, you are going to need a very good graphics card/pc for the max setting. I turned my options all the way up and I started bogging down with 7 lights.

Re: Workspace / Modelspace eye candy
I've seen that, in the post-processing section of the settings menu. It never made my glass clear, though.. and I've never seen reflections in Workspace mode.
I'm trying to make some videos from workspace, because of the animation issues between model and workspace. But model space renders much better. Workspace 'render to file' is nothing but a screenshot, not a 'render' in the real sense of the word.

Re: Workspace / Modelspace eye candy
exactly, workspace side was called Realtime render cos the quality is far better than the direct3d from model side..
In workspace side, you can even create your own d3d shaders..
I am working on a friendly d3d shader link for workspace but never will be compared to a raytrace render with raytraced shadows, reflections, transmission etc.. but its something..
btw!! d3d is amazing for specific types of projects.. imagine that you can render an animation in 1080p in minutes, i think that's why they've called it "Realtime"

Prodigy's the freakin' MAN!
I reinstalled Yafaray on my newly unofficially updatetd tS 7.61. The Yaf_glass material looks translucent on the workspace side! But renders opaque in the model side..
I'm gonna play with the WS settings a bit.

Re: Workspace / Modelspace eye candy
Remember model side and Workspace side are not 100% compatible.. i have no doubt that you lost materials or something else during the jump between sides...
Workspace side was made from the scratch, and basically that's why i stop use model side..
Workspace side is very flexible, perfect for my work..
Model side, has much more cool tools like "path" that IMO is extremely important..
All depends on your needs..

Yeah, I find the material editor in MS infinitely easier than the link editor.. and that's all my hobbyist stuff needs
Is there at least a way to increase texture display size on workspace side?
