Object Replacement Plugin?

Post by lrdsatyr8 »

Hey all... me again... Just a quick question... is there a plugin that will allow you to replace one object in a scene with another and maintain the same X/Y/Z scale/rot/loc as the original? For example... let's say I want to make a template scene that has several objects in it in a precise location. But I want to change say one cube into a object that I load in from the library. IS that possible? The new object would inherit all the original cube's information (possibly even animation). If there isn't a plugin, could one be possible? Am just curious... would be a handy tool.

I just ran across this post. Don't know if your still looking, but yes there is an object replacer for tS v4.3 - 6.6. Can't remember where I down loaded it from, but you should be able to type in "ObjRep45.tsx" into your search engine and find it. It gives options for "match scale" and "match location & rotation". It's a free plugin. If you can't find it in your search, let me know and I'll locate a site, or else find a way to get a copy to you...3drunner

There is a plugin Clinton made, it isn't really a replace tool, but it does constrain all translation/rotation and scale to a parent object (for animation).

The object replace tool... ehm.. will have to research a little.

TS 7.6 model side ( equals TS 6.6 plus ) has a replace tool. It is on the fly out menu with copy, delete, and glue. I don't know if straight 6.6 has it.

I found the one in 7.6 (the model side 6.6... Thanks for the ehads up on that one Finis) but can't seem to find the ObjRep45.tsx plugni for prior versions. I tried that plugin from Clinton and it's kinda glitchy... If you can find it Runner, lemme know! Would truly appreciate it.

The replace tools were in ts6.5 so would be in 6.6. I believe swappo.tsx worked in some earlier versions. It's here http://www.freecp.sourceforge.net"
