hi all,
I recently decided that I need to be focused on what I really want,
which is to make my own animated film, rather than be employed
keyframing in a cubicle somewhere.
I have a few other softwares, some also dead and abandoned
but still useful, and the rest just have bad instruction (well not
Poser).
Sp maybe I must be crazy to go for it, but I'm feeling this
is the one I want to go with. Instead of continually being
attracted by other fancy new stuff, I will go for what will
hel pme get it done. Like straight cuts in an editing program
rather than a lot of silly transitions, you know?
So I spend the day today downloading all the free training.
This was not free when I bought TS, and I couldn't afford it
then. So this coudl be very helpful.
Good to be back, I hope I can learn it.
I have Poser and Vue, and am thinking maybe these three
could be a good combination.

Welcome back.
Several people here use "VueSpace" so I think TS works well with Vue.

Thank you! I noticed there was a training video for using TS with Vue,
so that's pretty good. I'm planning to upgrade to, I think it's
the "complete" version" rather than to Vue infinite.

Its a good thing to update to version Vue 7.5 as this opens your world to the Collada format.
and animations (not character) even physics from Truespace can be exported with this format.
Also look into Daz studio 3 as this lets you export Poser content via Collada also to Vue.
We are using the same pipeline for our community project only with the inf. version.....
It does fantastic instancing even for animation..
Frootee´obj exporter lets you export in sequence and there are sequence importers for Vue so you can even export
procedral animations. I am right now trying to get that sequence pipelie running ..

.OBJ plugin, have it on my list. It's good....but why didn't TS
have something so basic from the beginning? Argh, at least
it's available now.
That's cool, what kind of community project are you doing?

Re: Don't know what I want, coming back around to Truespace
I'm kinda changing how I look at things.....if I go for a more high end software,
chances are I can't mostly do it myself. If I change my focus a bit, and
go for a more machinima approach, then actually truespace is the most
advanced thing out there! In the machinima world, truespace is the
Houdini to all the xbox games.
So Truespace = Houdini = Great.
