Hey there,
this applies to TS 7.61 beta 8.
I'm trying to finish a halloween pic. Scene is a grave yard with various things in it, etc. Anyway I'm using a 'infinite light', all volumetrics are turned on. It's simple: I'm just not getting any fog at all, none, nada, took density all the way up, nada. The only thing that seems to give me anything is the 'ambient' but even at the lowest setting its too much contrast/fog look, its washing stuff out, even with density at lowest settings. I don't get this because sometimes I get the effect I need (in any given project), other times theres just no volumetric fog effect at all. I'm perplexed. Also, if anyone knows any tutorials on this, I'd appreciate that too on the side.
kind regards
Rob

Re: Volumetric lighting problem. Help, please.
For volumetric lights, turn on the volumetric options for the light in the options panel (only spotlights and projector lights can have volumetric effects), and also enable "Foreground Effects Shader - Simple Volumetric" in the Render Options panel (the toolbar in the upper right of your screen). Right-click on this icon to access the options for the volumetric effects. If your volumetric light is going to shine through a transparent texture, enable shadow casting for the light and set the shadow transparency to "Transparent Shadows" in the shadows options.

Re: Volumetric lighting problem. Help, please.
I've found 'Advanced' volumetrics render "faster" than 'Simple'.
More options, too.
I put "faster" in quotes because volumetrics are usually anything but fast.

Re: Volumetric lighting problem. Help, please.
I'm sorry. I did not mean simple volumetrics. I'm using advanced volumetrics. I did search google for tutorials but came up with nothing helpful regarding truespace.
Thanks for the one link. Seems like a good tutorial for 'simple volumetrics.' I'm proficient with the stuff in that tutorial. But
anyway.
Just need one for 'advanced.'
