I never had VRay but I don't see how a program was ever released with a bug like that. There are plenty of examples of that though.

you can't even imagine how hard i tried to get this bug fixed.. you can't!
Posts after posts.. showing how bad this bug is.. they solved another few, some very important also related with the glass..
If i only have this bug fixed, im sure that i can continue working with truespace for a very few years more..
But you know, collaboration was much more important than have a good rendering engine to work with..

Well, I think the vray bug is there to stay if the post by Vlado is any indication. There's a plugin for Blender that works with vray standalone that I haven't properly looked at yet, but it already seems to have more options than vray for ts. You can get on the beta very easily, and I think you can now buy as an early adopter if you're doing commercial work.
I'm not sure whether I'll bother, chaosgroup's indifference to our problems has me looking elsewhere.
There are many renderers that are worth looking at. If you're a student you can get a Rhino/ Brazil "educational" package (that is fully commercial, unlike academic) for US$400. I'm probably going to get it and see if it's viable for archviz and product design.
