I have a completed .avi file of this horse that breathes fire and have a .wav file that needs to be adjusted to coincide with the video. The audio is about 6 times faster than the video movement to simulate the breathing and I can't seem to lengthen, or otherwise cause the overall audio file to slow down over the course of the six breaths it contains. Do I need to save it as another source file in order to stretch it?
From experience, I have been able to rip music from CD and adjust the length in either direction for personal use, but this project is meant for a website and have located an open source file. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Re: Adjusting .wav files to Animation of Horse
You will have to create a new file to get the effect you are looking for.
No cost solution would likely be to use Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ to stretch your sound file to a new length and then use a compositor like Wax http://www.debugmode.com/wax/ to match the sound to the video....
The commercial solutions can speak for themselves....

I wonder... Couldn't you use Clips of the breathing In 2 Out? Then put the Clip(s) where you want it along the timeline.

Re: Adjusting .wav files to Animation of Horse
My thanks to you both. I did actually stumble upon and download audacity but can't seem to figure out how to stretch the file. I can add the audio portion in my post processing program so that isn't an issue. Pinnacle Studio just wouldn't allow me to stretch the .wav which started me scratching my head.
Can you give me a clue as to stretching the clip in Audacity? If I stumble upon the solution I'll post my solution.

I found the solution on a forum post that indicated a change in tempo will effectively lengthen the audio track. It worked and now all I have to do is clean it up a bit.

Re: Adjusting .wav files to Animation of Horse
I had to change up my approach to the problem. The tempo modification rendered the audiofile as useless in terms of cleaning it up. The change speed modification maintained the wavelengths of the audiofile for the breathing as well as the galloping. Further, in post production, I adjusted the clip sound volumes so that they might be more fluid.
All things considered, TS is an AWESOME program. The learning curve was a 4 month process for what I had in mind, but as an Architect, I tend to work 'outside the box'. I am very glad to have found this program, learned what I did about it (in short order comparably), and am adding it to my 'arsenal' of abilities.
The forum members that have posted are to be commended. I couldn;t have found a better group of individuals (and this is my first REAL involvement with a program forum) to learn from and with. I will post a completed .wmp file for all of you to download! ...If the forum accepts such a file

Did you all figure out a way to work with audio in TS in the end?
