This is a little pet project I'm doing for my grandson.
It uses the SSS box, I think Mr Jo came up with for a quick way to get medium into a scene from sunlight over at Thea.
Feathers McGraw is a Warehouse model and I'll probably re do as some parts are a bit low poly, also he needs to be holding a drill and book, the floor tiled quite badly, telescope looks a bit naff also the window looks very flat, dunno why it was a bit more detailed lol
I got a lot of noise on the trouser copper lowers which just doesn't want to go away!

"Feathers" McGraw - what a great name! heh
The scene is pretty aesthetically sound imo, but too much intensity on the sunlight steals the details of the scene.
Most people, like myself, love to explore the details of the scene to compare what is there and what isn't there. The theme of scene appears to be on bright sunlight.
Also, the shadows are hard and too solid in appearance. Unless one is going to animate them, can't see giving too much focus on a shadow.
Love the stance of the scene though - two in a face-off of some unknown event about to occur. Sort of like two gunslingers, with one character's back to the sun.
I think once the light intensity is downplayed, along with a depth of field you have a cooler looking scene. It's already cool and has that 'what is next' feel about it for story-telling.

Re: WIP- The Wrong Trousers
Thanks for the great comments Jamesmc
The scene has Vignetting, which adds a darker area around the edge of the picture, I think I over did it a bit resulting in a tunnel vision effect forcing focus on to the light effect.
The sun itself is physically correct for UK, but it is set lower than it should be, so maybe thats why the shadows are a bit hard, usually Thea shadows are quite tame lol
I was a coward when it came to DOF, on the final render I'll try and get it better

It has a Splinters-BuddyWorld-esque look but still a different style. It gives me that feeling you get when channel surfing TV and you see a show you like -- stop flipping channels, this is the one! Please show more of this story as you go.

Re: WIP- The Wrong Trousers
I get to see Wallace and Gromit most days thanks to the grandson, sometimes I'm really lucky and get to see EVERY one of em back to back lol
I took a couple of days off to try and enter the MMC, at the moment its the cr*ppest thing I've rendered in a long time
But the W&G's are great for inspiration, any stop motion type film is, I like Tim Burton's stuff too

Cool, I think I've seen this episode. It's where the penguin is going to break into the museum right?
