Good TS settings for small screen?

Hi

I am currently forced to work on a laptop for my 3D work (to be honest, I have little time to work with 3D at all right now).
This works good for TS 6.6 but less good for TS 7.6
The reason is that TS 6.6 was made for a quite low resolution so my screen resolution of 1280x800 works there.
But for TS 7.6 this is a bit cramped in the standard setup.

Any suggestion about layouts to use for TS 7.6? Is there anyone who is more sutible for small screens?

Another questions - what do you do to get inspiration when you have much work? I feel that I don't really have time for the 3D now.
What do you do? How do you get your inspiration?
