I ran across this program yesterday and was pretty excited by it's obvious potential in 3D, although I am skeptical of the output polygon count being practical, which is the only reason I am holding off a while on getting it.
I would hate to invest a month or two getting addicted to it's many uses and then find that the day the developer releases the export module(s) that the final output in 3D poly-count is ridiculously high and impractical.
Still... I love fractals and have always loved the thought of using 3D Fractal objects, and this particular software seems to have a very cool approach to making that possible so far.
Check it out for yourselves:

Re: Has anyone here tried "Incendia" yet?
Yes I have, but I can not get 1.2.1 or 1.2.2 to launch.
Has anybody been able to get this to run?
I get a .txt file in Temp folder after failure to launch

Hope someone here can help you with that guy, as my OP said, I haven't tried the program out yet myself. Cool potential though for sure!

Re: Has anyone here tried "Incendia" yet?
I am seriously wondering what the charge will eventually be on this when it pops out of Beta. Also I can't help but be wary about the likelyhood that the super cool content it creates may end up producing as many polygons per object output as ZBrush does, I hope not though.
Would be great if he manages to include some very effective poly reduction algorhythms before it comes out of Beta.

Re: Has anyone here tried "Incendia" yet?
Got it working...was a SSE2 issue...cpu only SSE aware(thought it was SSE2).
Downloaded the non SSE2 1.2.2 version. Started fine.
I use an older pc to test out downloaded programs.
I'm hoping to write a python script for the new Blender2.50, creating 3d fractals, there's been some interest.
At a lost on how to do this in TS7.6.
Thanks anyways...off to try this Incendia out.

If you manage to get a python 3d fractal script running in Blender there is a good chance you can port it to trueSpace7.6x. When you get a working version let us know here, there are python tools and methods we may be able to point you to for using it in trueSpace as well.3dtrc wrote:Got it working...was a SSE2 issue...cpu only SSE aware(thought it was SSE2).

Re: Has anyone here tried "Incendia" yet?
This is a 2d fractal program...output to image format, bmp native.
Darn...been looking for a 3d fractal for some time now.
It does look promising though...but I never could learn how to output a decent image in fractals.
I guess that's why I'm trying to do this in 3d apps...just better working in 3d.
I may try this further.
Anybody know of a fractal program in python? GPL?
Could not even find one at sourceforge.
Anyways, thought I should let it be known, no output in 3d format though.
Thanks again for the replies.

Actually Incendia is a 3D Program, the Author just hasn't worked out the 3D Model Export from the program yet but is working on it according to the front page of the site:3dtrc wrote:This is a 2d fractal program...output to image format, bmp native.

So it may be native bmp at the moment but what attracted me to it is it's development intentions combined with it's current capabilities.
Also pugman is right too... xenodream is awesome and very much 3D right out of the box.
