The milliphone horn. It's like a millipede and a saxophone or a millipede mellophone.
The tubes are helices with bends and tapers and some soft selection fitting from Hexagon. The flares (I'll call the funnel like parts that) are modeled on the tube ends and copies cut off to spread on the tubes. Mouthpiece made in Hexagon.
TS 7.6 model side. I spread cylinders fitted to the flares on the tubes with the geometry paint tool. Then grouped and copied the groups. One set of cylinders will be drills for Boolean subtraction for holes in the tubes. The other set is place holders to place flares using the global replace tool.
Textures and render will be in Daz.
Any ideas for how to present this instrument? On a stand? In a case?

Shiny and brassed up on a wooden stage with thick red velvet curtains, the spotlights gleaming off it in multiple lensflares and sparkles? Not sure... In a glass case in a museum? (Beethovens first instrument, of 2years of age)??

I recommend one of the Greek Lamb rotisseries that acts as warmer/cooker and carving platform.

It could hang from its stand on a stage awaiting the arrival of the musician.

No musician? I guess you can let the stand carry the tune.

Ha, ha, ha.
It is not easy to get Daz stuff to look like metal. So far making a metal material, brass, isn't working for me and I can't find any free materials/shaders for metal for Daz. Looking at the free content that came with Daz for examples.
Edit: I can't get anything resembling metal in Daz. So rendering in Bryce now.

It reminds me of a poster advertising that I had done in 1996.

Re: U3DAC Musical Instrument - Milliphone
This is probably it.
Should there be something in the space left of the instrument? If so then what should it be? I like the simplicity and think the space is not large enough to require something and implies that the musician will arrive. But the right thing there might improve it. What do you think?
I modeled a small venue, a "box" room and small stage, but the instrument was too small in the picture if the edge of the stage was visible.
Edit: larger picture
