I have it and use it but prefer to model in silo+Moi3d+Sketchup but it has a pretty good render engine and its pretty gooed
for its workflow with Daz studio content...
given that it was a cover cd not bad !

Yes, I've been using it a bit.. The sub-division surface modeling is
VERY GOOD !!! Lots of great tools. I don't like the boolean functions
so well. They tend to make surfaces with lots of triangles (edges). A
real pain because you cant just extrude them. So many cool
things I could just start listing them but it would take a while.....
Anything you want to know?????

Re: Carrara users?
I have Carrara 6 Pro, but I couldn't justify spending the cash for 7 when most of the new features seemed to be either fixes or stuff I had bought other programs to do (such as painting).
I checked the other day and it is still a few hundred dollars for me to upgrade, and I know as soon as I do they will stick it in a magazine and give it away for free...
Waiting for cloth/soft bodies and a 64 bit release.

Re: Carrara users?
RayMan, I don't know. I have (so far) 6.2 and have not exported
anything yet. I've been learning the tools and getting used to the
layouts. (Modeling, texturing rendering and a very little bit of
animation....) I got mine for free.... and HATED it at first !!!!
But to be honost, after giving it some time its really a fantastic app.
Theres lots of cool hidden things in there like a great grid snap,
the ability to tile an image so that it leaves no seams (even though
it should), lots of different image map options, and a very good set
of particle effects.... Although powreful, I don't like textureing as
much in it. For me the ability to paint on a model directly and to
be able to model in the assembly room would be very nice... (7.2 PRO)
I know their working on Carrara 8.....
