Trouble Shooting

Problem: I have my water and my effectors but the simulation does nothing to the water surface.

Possible Solutions:

  1. Select the water object and then click on the water surface selection button just to make sure DynaWave knows which object is your water. Sometimes after changing things around one can forget to do that.
  2. Make sure your effectors are checked on the effector list. Press Refresh if necessary.
  3. Make sure all your effectors have different names. You can press the Refresh button on the effectors panel and DynaWave will rename the duplicates.
  4. Check that the units for both object and world are the same. Go to the Object Info Panel and set them both to the same units (meters:meters for example).
  5. The collision with the water surface is based on the water object's axes. Click on the axes button on trueSpace and make sure the axes are at the same level as the water surface.
  6. Verify that the effectors are going through the water surface.
  7. Make sure that your parameters make sense (you have a good enough amplitude, the decay is not too high, the life span is more than 0, the starting frame is not the ending frame, etc.)
  8. If all this fails, save your scene and restart trueSpace.

Problem: I press the Hide Effectors button but some effectors won't go away.

Possible Solution:

The effectors that remain are most likely effectors that are not checked in the effectors list. You will have to turn those invisible manually (because technically they are not being recognized as effectors by DynaWave when they are unchecked).

If your wind source is not vanishing is because you need to press the hide button on the wind section. It won't turn invisible with the Hide Effectors button.

Problem: I get an error when trying to select water surface.

Possible Solution:

This problem is rare but has happened after modifying a scene and deleting objects expected by DynaWave. If it happens to you save your scene and restart trueSpace.
