Spacekdeet and Mikom are right. Bomb tests were done on the surface for a while. Many just 70 miles (112km) from Las Vegas. There was atomic tourism as people would go there to see the blasts.

Someone post a new What Is It.

Edit: "Spacekdeet"?

It's Google's quantum computer for AI, if it's not an assimilator using Borg technology. Similar ones are often covered by the press. I don't know why, but some of them from other countries are hanging from the ceiling in the same way.

Hate to wreak the fun, but it looks like one should not use images on the WWW for Steinie's U3DA Game "What is it?"

.

Might even get worse with AI

Using image search seems pointless. Anyone can do that. There's no accomplishment, skill, intellect, intuition, reasoning, detective work, keen observation, enjoying everyone's guesses ... "cheating" only spoils all that for everyone.

My first impression was a chandelier. Then I decided that it is a machine and began looking for clues (in the photo) to its size.

I don't think there are rules. It is just for fun perhaps with an implied "honor system". Attributed to George Washington: "If men were angels we should need no laws at all."

I'm not saying image search was used here. Any of us may well have already seen images of this or similar.

Haha, I love this 'device' even though I have no idea what it is.

My first impression and only guess would be that it is some kind of AI generated belaying device for rock-climbing.
