well been into the topic of 3d optimisation lately !
if you dump a lot of 3d stuff into a scene then you very rapidly run into isuues !
What I was testing the last couple of months was how to keep resources low and crank up
the quality limits !
There are some pretty nice ways of doing so ! One of them I am experimenting with here is
splitting HDR and cranking up the resolution of HDR maps ! When split you can run software like ON 1 ( Genuine Fractals or S spline on them) or ai versions to get good results ! If you load an Hdr and you have only 30- 40 degrees of field then your massive 8 k rapidly becomes a lowly 1500 px wide which is given that your 8K EXR boggs your system... down not muchos !
The model her is just a test file from Sketchfab and the HDR is from Polyhaven ! Its not a plate its a full size 16 K 360 deg!
Renders in around 2 Minutes in Vue.. ! I cut film in shotcut during rendering....!

Re: optimisation....
here the origanal size of the new Polyhaven Hdr zwartkops straight sunset.. for size comparison.. to get the idea of the problems
how to use....HDRIS.!
