The Steinie sees all. His wisdom is boundless. He ... wait this isn't the fan club thread. The levels. Hmm didn't consider them. The round level would need to point upward to work. That shows the orientation of the item when in use. The round one would make the long level unnecessary. So there must be a useful configuration of the item where the round level is not functional.

Size of the item? The mount does look like a camera mount and the item is not built to handle heavy weight or strong forces. I think it is a few inches across.

Yes, this is not that big. The size of the white box is approximately W60 x H97 x T35mm. The black part and white box are products manufactured and sold by separate company. Before taking this photo, I removed some auxiliary (but necessary to make it work) parts from each (black part and whit box).

Edited to add some clues.
- Considering the possibility that I would use the black part alone, I got a type with bubble tube levels, but when I combine it with the white box, the levels are not necessary at all.
- The black part has two screw holes for handle. (They loosen/fasten the rotation of two joints.)
- Observe the white box carefully.

Busy with work. I think the black part is a camera mount because the screw and textured pad are common for camera mounts. I still think the white part is motorized to move the camera. If separate then I'll guess the black part goes on a tripod. With the white part and some unseen parts I'll guess it is for photos or videos of the night sky by moving to counter the apparent movement of stars.

Yeah, as you have guessed, this is a set of a small equatorial mount (white part, loadable weight 2kg) and a alt-azimuth mounting (black one).

The white box has a small hole that goes through it from front to back. It's a lensless low accuracy scope. For use in the northern hemisphere, the user positions it so that the North Star (accurately a little bit closer to the Big Dipper / the Plough) is visible through the hole, so that the rotation axis of the white box is parallel to the Earth's axis. For the purpose, another (normal) alt-azimuth mounting is required on the top of a tripod. A similar-sized controller with battery box is connected to the white box via a PS2 connector (backside in the photo), and it has two switches for speed (24h and 12h) and reverse-rotation.

The functions and roles of each part (especially the silvered small pin) are clear, but I can't tell what it is as a whole.
