3D hologram fans technology

Holographic technology is now quite affordable : you can purchase a 3D hologram fan for less than 100$

I am a complete newbee in this domain and I wonder what file format these fans are fed with. If we can figure creating a real-world projected 3D scene using trueSpace...
Is there some specialist here ? Or are you just like me, discovering this amazing technology ?

I actually see this in an computer/electronics store not too far from me. They have some bigger "display" with I think 3 fans. Not bad, not awesome. And its still 2D flat.

Yes, it seems this technology is a fake 3d : it simply displays a 3d render on transparent background, showing the same picture from any view angle.

Hi guys, I bet it uses a simple MP4 with a black background... but that's just my guess.
