Can't open trueSpace 7.6 and 7.61

After two weeks without even opening the software I just get excited about this SMC and decided to join it, but when I tried to open trueSpace it just gets an error before open, then I tried with the 7.61 and the same... then I deleted the default.ctx and still nothing, so I reinstalled it, and well again nothing. What's happening? I don't remember to do anything with the computer. This is totally unexpected.

I guess you can try restoring your computer to a point 3 weeks ago or earlier. Something must have changed in those two weeks since it was working.

Your using version 7.6 and not 7.61 Beta correct? Is there a reason you are using
an older version?
Did you update your video drivers lately?
What did you install on your computer within the last two or three weeks?
What was the last project your were working on in trueSpace?
When you uninstalled trueSpace did you clear out the registry too?

Just a guess, but I think TS tries to open the last file worked on by default. Apparently the file got corrupted somehow. You could make a backup and then delete the corupted file or copy a good file over tha bad file using the same name.

Good guess, but that would be too easy. The last scene is stored in the default.ctx. And Leonregis already stated that he has deleted it as one of the first actions. He has even reinstalled tS meanwhile.

As one of the last posibilities i would uninstall it, delete the remaining tS 7.6 folder at C:\ to get rid of the very last fragments, then run a regcleaner, and try again with reinstall. But my bet is that even this will fail.

Hm, one last thought, have you installed the newest DirectX version in the last few days? Maybe tS doesn`t like it. Then it maybe could help to start tS with held down ctrl key , and change the Realtime view to Wireframe ...

Well, in the end, trueSpace development is stopped. So this could be a good point to think about migration too. I make good progress with Blender at the moment. I even managed to fiddle out a setup where i don`t need to hold down any keys for navigation. And it has a working bones system, yay!

The message "tsxapi.dll offset 002d5f2d" is an acces violation. It is possible TS (XP) is not enumerating the display modes properly and sometime choose a compatibility mode (95/98) resolve this problem.

Hold Ctrl and try to run truespace.. that will show you a dx panel, maybe that helps, not sure..
