I tested Mitsuba with a 3770 k and a 680 oc. 16 gigaram and ssd.
The realtime is same quality than the render to file with 1920x1080 !
The problem of most gpu render is the max size (your screen). I work with 3840x2160 minimum.
Maybe i need an ultra HD screen. :D
Good render engine.

the problem i found with mitsuba is that has no material editor or light editor.. so i can't figure how (without touching by hand the code) to fresnell shaders or area light etc..

If i found a good way, we have a very good option for those that want a free global illumination renderer..

Render farm! rocks!

looks good, i tested too. But the colada limitation (area light etc.) is really limiting... and obj import to mitsuba doesnt work, i always got some error.

btw prodigy: it supports openGL not openCL, so you dont have to have a cuda or openCL ready card. OpenGL supports every graphics card there is.

still Kerkythea is the same thing (=standalone with general file format import) but has lights and material editor, you can move objects, lights etc. Its way more usable than Mitsuba. Mitsuba is nice, but featureless. No tools to finetune the scene.
