The Futuristic Preppy Bike Race

Post by Steinie »

The "Idea"
I envisioned futuristic Preppies in a bike race.
Using the High Society Etiquette Handbook as my guide
no grease, gears, chains, unpleasant colors (like brown) or odors shall
be allowed. For personal social situations,
for example two contestants bumping into one another,
a Hankie is required between contacting members.
A polite social utterance like "darn you Bobby" should be avoided.

Let the Pleasantries begin!

On Model side I selected the "Cylinder primitive".
Adjusted the shape using the "edit widget" into a tapered cup.
Utilized the "Radial Array" tool to create a floret.

(Merci Marcel for mentioning this feature the other day)

Switched to workSpace to use "Mesh Simplifier"

In workSpace using simple primitives I assembled the
Futuristic "Pretty Wheel".

I'll explode the individual parts for your viewing pleasure.

Thanks theuns.

My next step is to create a cozy environment for the Preppy
Contestant. I envision a sleek skinned cabin with all the luxuries.

The tools used are listed and an arrow points to where they were applied during
construction.

The two models are now together and scaled. An interior is needed next.

very nice effect on the wheels and overall look. I assume the glass portion raises up and that's how they get in or are you going to put a hatch in the back and make them climb in through the "ass" end ;)

I think the preppie nation would be proud to cruise up and down the strip with their izod shirt collars raised and their sweaters tied around their shoulders!

Thank you Finis and Tahnoak.
Yes the sweater tied around the shoulders sounds like a fine idea!
I picture an apparatus that drops the vehicle onto the rider so entry and exit doesn't mess up their hair! A preppy doesn't craw up the ass of anything!!!

Insider scoop:
In every project I work on my intention is to do something different from the
norm. The creative process is just as important to me as the actual work.
An "Original" work is hard to do today since there are so many people doing the same thing.
If my work always feels "odd" or "different" to you then I have achieved my goal. We are inventors
in the 3D Art world. We have been given the tools....(of course SOME of us PAID for them, cough cough) :x ...
now go out there and create YOUR world.

Intersting concept.

For the PReppy health concious generation, I would expect thwm to have someone pedling for them, and have them do something completely pointless for excersize.

At least here... We have people jump in the car Drive 1 mile to the gym so they can walk 2 miles on a treadmill.... Hmmmm.... what if they just walked to and from the Gym.
