I've a PC with a 6 core AMD FX 6100 CPU and nVidia GTX 1050 video card. Rendering is horribly slow, slower than anything I've ever used trueSpace on since an 80486.
I also get a 'window blinds' effect where it renders a bunch of stripes that fill downward until they touch, then it goes down to the next section, repeating until the object or scene is finished.
I used to have a 9800GT 1GB card and it didn't do that, plus it was a heck of a lot faster rendering in trueSpace 6.6. Makes me wonder if the newer GPUs and/or their drivers are deprecating old DirectX functions or if they just aren't as well optimized?

Have you tried running trueSpace in Compatibility Mode?
Right click your trueSpace Desktop shortcut and select Properties.
In the Compatibility tab, run the Run compatibility troubleshooter.
For me, using Win 10, it suggested to run with Windows Vista (Service Pack 2)

Compatibility mode settings didn't make any difference.

GPU is not used in Lightwork rendering engine. So its definatly not GPU. Try reinstalling tS (incl. C++ runtime libraries), sometimes its strange and it helps.
