Work Help!

Post by LeonRegis »

Hi, this is my first commercial creation. I have three questions:

Any software can take a image like a map and create a 3D model of it? Or I need to do like a car or organic model and put it on a plane and go modifying vertex per vertex?

Exist any free model of optical fiber for download? I don't really need but would be good if...

Which is the best way to create a country map?

Everything need to be compatible with TS 7.6

Thanks

From my understaning you can take your map, into Photoshop or Gimp and turn it to grey scale bump map, from there apply it as a displacement image to make teh topographical terrain.

Prodigy has a tutorial for creating terrain. Just applying your map correctly to a plain to get the results.

I just want to cut of the blank parts and make the map with profundity but not topographical, I'm giving a way.
About that gray scale, how I do? I think is it I'm looking for

Now I'm doing in this way

Thanks

I use photo shop, but I already finish the map, now I just need the optic fiber Object, if anyone can donate to me, I'll start the optic fiber, but if is finish already it would be amazing. The only problem in create that optic fiber is really the texture to make most realistic is possible.

I'll do something like that http://www.nettonecomm.com/images/50098 ... _optic.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

it is an easy question you just ad low luminous property to the fibre and high luminous quality to the tip
plus i added glow...
Vue lets you even ad that to glass ....

Yeah, it's a good way and it's exactly what I want :D
I remember vaguely how to add luminous property to the object. The result is good but I really forget how to add that luminity.
Can anyone post the button or how to add?

Really thank guys and RAYMAN :worship:
