Maybe, you need to open trueSpace after a clean installation before running the Unofficial Update

Looking at your above steps...
After you, "extracted tS7.61B8.9, allowed all overwrites", did you Reset the Default Context?
You should have not "deleted default.ctx" before starting tS

If, "trueSpace freezes at splashscreen", End Task, delete the default.ctx, and open trueSpace

Not sure how to reset the default context if I can't open tS and presumably after install of barebones tSB8 the context is default

Saul, were you able to run the web server in UU8?
If not then this part never worked for you.

If I rename the dll file I get the same error as Saul. So it's failing to load it. In UU8 it loads as rsx so any errors wouldn't stop tS from starting.

I edited the init.js with try catch and it gets by the artificial error I created and tS starts
"try{RsApp.ImportPackage('Clintons3dRsView.dll');}catch(e){}"

It sounds like a dll hell error

I am at a lost Saul
The only other thing I can think of is your downloaded files are corrupted
Clinton and I have working UU9 installations using the rsx plugins as dll(s) so I am not sure why it is not working for you

If trueSpace opens for you, please try opening Scene View 2

How do i get rid of the windows opened by scene view 2, restarting tS doesn't work:
EDIT Changing layout tabs does it!
