Workspace 3D Copy

Post by clintonman »

I just discovered that if you hold the ctrl key and drag on a mesh in the 3D view, not the widget, it will give you a copy. I had no idea it could do that except in the link editor. Funny thing is I've always wanted to drag out a copy the way 3dsmax can, with a ctrl and drag and the ability was there the whole time.  :bananathumb:

It still has potential the problem is lack of good render engine!
I came up with the idea of integrating Kerkythea.. the people didnt like the suggestion... so Jack Eduards opted for a different solution.. Thats were we are right now! Jack is gone.. the exporter is old.. and not serviced anymore...! Vray isnt up to date anymore either...!
Thats what it is now! If we had a Kerkythea exporter.. it would be cool because Thea opens Kerkythea files .. no need to update because Kerkythe doesnt change . etc etc etc..!
I might make one pretty soon! Not very different to the existing exporters.... so! Same thing with Vue! Vue gets updated every year.. the file format doesnt realy change.. has everything that
Truespace doesnt have.. and with other soft like iclone its a highend realtime animation option.. something that previously only Pixar had with an inhouse solution(Presto)!

Ah, should have voiced my happiness for Kerkythea.

I would be just happy with Alembic or a personal refined FBX (which so far seems really good already) export process, which I haven't extensively tried. With those then the render engine will be rather... it wouldn't matter.. Anything could load your alembic/fbx and render that out. Anyway, that is irrelevant.

For the WS, Blender will release Eevee and it will be much better than the WS. I still will miss trueSpaces potential additive keyframe system that Blender surprisingly can't do, but it is a good update.

There, deveated the thread, lol

Yeah, I'm looking forward to Blenders Eeevee too. It looks fantastic.
