Anyione FAmiliar with Virtual Dub and Audit?

Post by Karthogen » 02 Aug 2009, 19:12

I coppied a few frames in VirtualDub to extend the video a the audio seemed to have been copied with it. So when I play it back, it will sound like it is skipping on those coppied frames?

What am I doing wrong to get the Audio file to play in conjuction with all the frames, and not duplicate teh notes on the copied frames?

Karthogen,

I am not that familiar with Virtual Dub, but I have encountered this problem myself. There may be a better way to do it, but here is my solution.
I split the audio from the video, make my changes to the video and then add the audio back in.
The way to go about this, is save the audio as a wav file. This will be uncompressed and will not loose any quality. Then dub the video with no audio and without compression. Now load in your new copy of the video make your changes and then add the wav file as your audio source. Dub again this time with your favorite compression codec.

If you are interested in another free product that can do a lot of video editing and mixing I suggest you look at Wax by Debugmode.... http://www.debugmode.com/wax/ I think you will find it easier to work with than Virtual Dub.....

Great thank you for the advice,

Wax looks intersting, I may have to give that a try.

It looks like I would still need virtual dub to combine my images to create the AVI then Wax would be able to do teh rest, Am I understanding that correctly?

There are a number of freeware products that will combine images to produce avi files.

For example, version 1.0 of ImagetoAvi is still freeware .... get it here .... http://www.aswsoftware.com/products/ima ... oavi.shtml

You can also look for a piece of software called UNFREEZE which compiles sequential GIF files into an AVI.

There are many out there, the trick is finding them.... :D

You can also download the tool that i created (BiVi)

you find it here: http://www.east-power-soft.de/index.php ... progs_bivi

it's in german language but not so difficult to understand. On the left side click on the yellow folder and choose your image path. Click on ADD to move the images to the right. Put in the FPS that your video should have (ie. 24 or 30 etc.) click on the GREEN Button "erstelle AVI", choose a filename and after that the compression. That's it.

To multiplex a WAV file is optional.
I still use TrueSpace 6.6
