Re: TSUNAMI NORTH AMERICA
I think the media hyped this tsunami stuff a bit much. I have a friend that is vacationing in Hawaii. He's staying in a hotel right by the beach. He took a picture the first day, and another about a half hour ago. The two pictures look exactly the same. So Hawaii had absolutely no noticeable effect. I haven't heard anything about the west coast yet, but if Hawaii is any indication, I suspect it won't be significant.
I really feel for the folks in Japan though. Looks awful.

Re: TSUNAMI NORTH AMERICA
The media hypes everything. Hopefully those who take action will have good information, behave sensibly, and not act due to panic, fear, or hype.
I think these waves are large area low height things out in the ocean. Maybe that is what helped Hawaii. It might behave differently as it passes over the continental shelf and breaks on the larger coasts.
I hope for the best for the Japanese and all effected by the quake. So far the news reports say there's a little flooding in some places in Hawaii and nothing troublesome on the west coast. There could be more waves. I hope they are mild too.

It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen.
