Thanks RAYMAN for details about octopus.
It's always interesting and just useful to know, what are the possible 'pipes' that could be used. :)

Check out this video when you have some time, it does not make messiah a very good video editor, but it does bring in some of the easy correction tool. There are other videos on using messiah as a compositing software, I am not sure I would do that for anything too complicated, but for little corrections it ain't bad.

I wonder if it would be possible for someone here to write code to connect the two like 3DCoat and Messiah has?
Back OT.

The cleanest way to get messiah animations into an app from what I can gather is either fbx or mdd. I've noticed that there is an fbx importer for 7.6 that doesn't import skeletons yet. Perhaps this could be an option one day, perhaps some cash to be made there as well.....

With the progress being made in the vray standalone project, truespace users could soon be in a best-of-all-worlds situation - messiah really brings the character animation potential that truespace never quite had (although motion studio is nice).

I've been testing out the messiah renderer today though, and so far it's looking very, very fast - especially for gi. Not sure what I will do with all of this, but by the time I've mastered messiah, I'm fairly certain some solution will be in place.

Actually, at this point it does import skeletons. It doesn't import skinning or animations yet.

Messiah isnt an exception... when you go from one application to another there are always causes for trouble.
Its always a can of worms......
I´d love to see a working Collada solution inside of Messiah I could use it pretty well if it had that.. i could even animate whole ecosystems that way.....
like in this example (Daz studio advanced and Vue 8inf)...
Fbx importers and Mdd for the other applications wouldnt be bad either.... the integration of Modo (with mdd) looks very promising i searched the setup forums
and found some promising videos there....

Oops, my bad. Is skinning and animations a possibility at some point?

TS and messiah. Let me think about that...
I read here that TS does not work with Windows7, is that still the case, are there work arounds?
If I can get it to work on one of my laptops I might try doing some things again. TS on the WS side always did some things that other programs took longer to do. Modo is a fine tool, probably more complicated than it needs to be though.

Hey Rich.
Here is a solution by dawdolman for a Link Editor problem in Win7.
The LE window would not redraw/refresh:

http://www.dawdolman.com/Downloads.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I use tS on my Win7 64 bit laptop; Workspace works fine for me; not sure about Model;
others have reported problems, so you may need to just give it a go.

It's in the plan. I also want to import and export morph targets.

Just let you know guys, pmG has released patch 5.0a for messiah:studio.
You can get it here: http://www.projectmessiah.com/x6/downloadPatches.html

Please note there is currently typo in release date, saying "March 20 2010".
Unfortunately there is no list of fixes available, but it's probably a good idea to download it...

as always: make sure, you have backup of old files.
