New Script installers tS7.61

Post by clintonman »

I am changing the installers for most of the scripts on my website to a "persistent" style. Meaning they will survive a context reset and layout changes. I also started some bug fixing and documenting as I go, including youtube videos.

added usage tips in the status line which also works with the std version

This is awesome news! Feels like a new update to TS. I like most of your addons, having a consistent installation process is a good idea. Will you share a way to build scripts to be compatible?

Sure, I kind of need it documented for myself anyway. Developer notes will end up on the persistent installer page.

Hey Clinton,
Happy New Year!
Is it safe to delete this thread?
https://united3dartists.com/forum/v ... =55&t=4247

Or could you include them in your script?

No, not safe to delete. The rsx plugin process has not changed and the 2 scripts mentioned will be updated to the new system and will still be found at the same links.
This new process changes the script installation, it does not update the entire tS installation the way the Unofficial updates do.

Okay, let me know if I need to change the links.
Or even better a dedicated page at your website that include any updates to your scripts that are included in the unofficial update?

OK, that's it for the first set of updates. This set was focused on modeling tool scripts. I'll open a new thread for the next set of scripts.

One thing you might want to note is that if a user installs the Unofficial update AFTER installing your new script installers, your installations will have to be reinstalled. Given that they will replace the Widgets and Toolbars.
