Re: Limbo
great concept! 3d is just a tool to show good idea and you do that with talent. with this kind of characters you can do a lot of thing. i like KeyMan. i know it is not for anim but it would be fantastic to use this character for a funny movie. each character could have a particular power due to the objects used for their body.

Re: Limbo
Thanks Marcel. All the characters are created from or based around lost objects; things that end up in Limbo. At least that is what we perceive. The tubes take them back to Limbo Land.
So far I have Milkman and the characters who carries him around. Each time he gets spilt his helper cries (think about it) and he gets that bit smaller...he used to be a full 4 pints!
KeyBob is made from those keys you just can't find.
Money bags...he steals the small change from your pockets and the back of the sofa...he's worth millions now!!
Pixelpete.....a pixellated character lost from the 8 bit days of computers.
Fluff magnet....name says it all but why is he always blue?
A few more to flesh out, no doubt names will change too....

Re: Limbo
If you are really thinking of Limbo you will need a sock pining for its mate... possibly a sock puppet....
there was always the missing chess piece or checker when I was a kid but I don't know how relevant those things would be to today's youth audience... they play these games online ....
more ideas later.... great work Splinters.

Re: Limbo
Good ideas guys, the sock was already in development but I like the remote control too!
Just what do we keep losing? Has to be tangible (i.e not losing a job or a bet) and relatively small. I want the world to be constructed from small elements such as a castle made from half chewed sweets and smarties!

Re: Limbo
Finally got around to messing with this. I originally wanted to mess with photos of the real world but the plan now is to do everything in trueSpace but then to apply lots of filters to give it a painted ethereal look. This is my first attempt at a page from the book. I am being very clear on this that I want minimal detail as it is told by a boy as if it were a dream he had...but he cant be sure. That should also mean less modelling and rendering and therefore something that wont take years to finish...

Looks a little like my flower vase http://united3dartists.com/forum/vi ... ?f=5&t=353
I think the colors/lighting create a look similar to Nightmare Before Christmas/Tim Burton.
Will you make the "awake" world look different than the Limbo world?
