SDS behavior that doesn't make sense to me

Hi.

I have an object like this:

and I want to add SDS to it. So I add an SDS layer, and it gives me this:

As you'll see, the edge loop that runs through the middle does something really funky instead of just smoothing out like the ones on the top and bottom do. Why is this, and how do I correct it?

tS 7.61 workspace side btw

Thanks!

It looks like you may have some internal faces. Get rid of those and it should work ok.

to avoid these kind of problems 2 tips.

1) move inside the object and start to delete internal faces.. just keep the external ones.
2) it looks like you have faces that are not joined on the verts, so use "weld elements tool"

willkommen aboard!

Tip 3: use Modeler SDS. Modeler and Workspace SDS uses different algorithms. And this leads sometimes to other results. But beware of the bridge ...
