Folowing was converted by Inventor to STL which works in tS, but I used MeshLab to make it even better ;)
The iges format is not crap and its not useless for many of us that use Moi or Rhino.
its a very good format.......
in fact if you have an iges of that vehicle you can export into different level of detail and polygon count !
Or did you say that model iges file was a crap ?

IGES is very specific for industry and CAD. A conversion to .obj with n-gones or quad create very good model that can be used with SDS. STL model is made with triangles. It is good for a finished object with hight poly count, not for SDS or edit. If you don't need to edit the model for this challenge you can use a STL.

you are right. but I meant that one exported by Local Motors, not in general. Coz truespace had big difficulties reading it and it had enormous complexity. But ok, iges export for tS is not ideal. But Pro-Engeneer and other pure CAD/CAM apps had very big, even bigger than tS, difficulties reading it. - I was asking my friends who are or are studying engineering, to convert it for me. It took two ppl with expensive professional CAD/CAM apps two hours to convert it for me. The only app that could work with this file was the Inventor. So i got the STL, that tS can read without problems (and meshlab too).
btw: IGES is quite old format, as I know. Newer and better is STEP. ;)
