We have the next version of Bforartists 2 ready. Bforartists 2 Alpha 0.4.0

The binary downloads can as usual also be found in the download section of the official webpage. https://www.bforartists.de/content/download
The sourcecode can be found at Github. https://github.com/Bforartists/Bforarti ... tag/v0.4.0
And the release note is here: https://www.bforartists.de/wiki/bforart ... senotev040

The Bforartists 2 alpha 0.4.0 release ends the cleanup work after the merge of Blender 2.80 into Bforartists. Again we removed some double menu entries, catched a few missing icons, and did some smaller tweaks. And now it starts with the changes at the actual interface. The text of the properties are now left aligned for better readability. View and Select menus are unified in look. The header is now divided into two sections instead of three. Left tools, right settings. Hundrets of tooltips have a tool name now. And it comes with some tweaks at the theme and the keymap. We had move with MMB and rotate with LMB in Bforartists 1. This was for no reason switched in Bforartists 2, which we have corrected now.

Bforartists is a fork of the popluar open source 3d software Blender. The primary goal of Bforartists is to deliver a better graphical UI and a better usability. Bforartists 2 Alpha 0.3.0 is based at the actual Blender 2.80 Beta version. And is of course free.

Have fun with the new version - Reiner

Again, thanks for the great amount of work and iam looking forward to the future development. I really hope to see something close to tS UI with proven blender widely supported technology.

Giant work Tiles...but exploring the interface i can't find any option about booleans operations...so can't subtract sphere from the cube in picture...

You would have to use the Boolean modifier. Right now it is a multistep process.

And there you can change the settings in the modifier stack

Alternatively, you can activate the Bool Tool addon (comes with BFA) and this will create a tool panel to the right that you can use to run bools with a click (last selected is the one that bools).

It also looks like the cube is subtracting from the sphere. The boolean modifier is not on the driver, but the driven - so you'd add the bool operator on the cube.

:worship: :worship: Thanks all of you ..Masters of 3D-Universe....i was terribly used with the exagerate comfort in tSp about this operations...even if (sometime) for some booleans must jump from modelside to workspace and back (more safe booleans without crashes)...:bananacheers:

Hi Cellulo,

We can't include those features. The fork is about UI and usability. To maintain features too would kill us. We don't have the man power for that. But i expect that these features will sooner or later arrive at Blender. And then they will of course arrive in Bforartists too.

And yes, for some features trueSpace is still ahead. Boolean is one of those areas :)
