Hello!
I was wondering if there was any way to create an animated shader or texture, say have an AVI or a PNG sequence set as a texture upon a tv screen in realtime.
As far as I know, it is possible to do the such within the model side, but I was hoping to do this only within the workspace side, as I'm using the Rosetta version of Truespace 7.6
Oh there is so much to learn!

Hi Draise,
You can do it with Prodigy's script, which can be found in Clintonman's "Image Plane background for trueSpace7.61":

Depending on your project, you can also use the Video Player in iOptDetectors:

Re: Animated Textures
There is also trueBlue's D3D Sequence Material with Alpha, which I haven't tested yet, but it should work in the same way as Prodigy's script:

BTW, if you need more info on Prodigy's script, you might find it useful to read this old thread at awportals:

Re: Animated Textures
Oh wow thanks Seaman. Now I just need to sit and experiment. For a program now 2 years out of date, it's still rather funky. =)

Re: Animated Textures
It's actually a good thing that the core program isn't changing anymore. There are only a few bugs that are well documented. If you look at Blender, the 2.59 “stable” build is still far from production ready and a lot of features are going to change again for 2.60 & 2.61.
